Magpul’s X-22 Backpacker Stock for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown is pure-genius, greatly increasing the utility of one of the most popular rifles of all time. The replacement stock’s polymer fore-end and buttstock nest and lock together when the gun is taken down, and the former’s barrel block is available with an optic rail for forward mounting of a red-dot sight. Side-facing sling points accept the company’s optional push-button swivel cups, and the buttstock’s cheekpiece hinges open to store three 10-round magazines. More storage in the grip and a non-slip rubber buttpad round out the package, which should fit discreetly inside a zippered nylon pouch that is under development. magpul.com
