When an intruder gets caught breaking into a home and is warned by the homeowner to leave, he should heed the warning. However, that was not the case with one such criminal in New Haven, Conn. Late one evening, a homeowner heard banging on his front door and went to see what the commotion was. He confronted the man, who was trying to gain entry into the home, but when the trespasser smashed his way inside, the resident shot and wounded him. The prowler was taken to a hospital for treatment, and the homeowner has not been charged. (The Hartford Courant, New Haven, CT, 1/17/17)
