America Remembers has announced the "Land of the Free" Tribute Revolver, issued on a working Smith & Wesson Model 500 revolver in a limited edition of only 300 Tributes. This over-sized handgun highlights the iconic, patriotic symbols and power that represent the United States of America.

Smith & Wesson debuted its Model 500 at the 2003 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas. For hunters, the Model 500 is the handgun that stands between them and a bear. For shooters, there is nothing like pulling the trigger and releasing 2600 ft.-lbs. of muzzle energy. And for collectors, there is no better canvas for a stunning tribute to the “Land of the Free.”

This powerful firearm Tribute is one of the most important patriotic firearms ever issued through America Remembers, honoring both the United States’ proud national heritage and the enduring spirit of American patriotism.

Both sides of the revolver feature a majestic American Bald Eagle beside a banner that reads: “Land of the Free.” For centuries, the American bald eagle has flown proudly as the ultimate symbol of freedom. The majestic bird inspired the United State’s founders. Looking up, they saw a fierce hunter with the same qualities that defined our new nation: strength, courage and resilience.

On the right side of the revolver is an early incarnation of Old Glory that was better known as “The Betsy Ross Flag,” showcasing the familiar red and white stripes and a circle of white stars representing the original 13 colonies.

On the left of the revolver near the grip is the Liberty Bell. All those who visit it in Philadelphia and read its timeless inscription—“Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof”—recognize it as an iconic symbol of American independence.

The massive 5-shot cylinder provides the perfect setting for custom artwork. In addition to an ornately framed collection of banners that read: “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave” and “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death,” the cylinder features a trio of noteworthy American images. First is Mount Rushmore, a monumental feat of artistry and engineering that showcases sculptures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln, transformed the side of a mountain in the Black Hills of South Dakota into an enormous memorial to four American presidents. The Statue of Liberty needs no introduction. The colossal statue was presented as a gift to the United States from the people of France in 1886. She stands as a beacon of freedom for millions who have come to our shores in search of the American Dream. She remains one of the most recognized monuments of American freedom and democracy.

The left side features a scene depicting three ragtag patriots marching across a battlefield with their drums and fife in hand. While it has become one of the most famous patriotic images connected to 1776, “The Spirit of ‘76” also known as Yankee Doodle, was actually painted 100 years after the American Revolution by Archibald M. Willard. To this day, it remains one of the most iconic images of the American Revolution.
