GAMO Outdoor USA has added the Hornet Maxxim break-barrel gas-piston air rifle to its lineup in both .22  and .177 calibers. The rifle is ideal for small-game hunting, recreational shooting and pest control. All the user needs to do is break open the rifled steel barrel, load a pellet and take aim.

Along with delivering steady power with less vibration, GAMO's Whisper Maxxim sound suppression technology minimizes normal shooting noise. Additionally, the manufacturer has incorporated its patent-pending Custom Action Trigger—a two-stage adjustable trigger—and its Recoil Reducing Rail, which maximizes the lifespan of the included 3-9x40 scope.

The all-weather molded synthetic stock has Shock Wave Absorber and its color-coded gasket ProShot ID System, which matches shooting needs with the performance attributes of each model. For example,
air gun and ammunition packages are now clearly labeled and color coordinated to designate their recommended primary usage: Red = Pest/Recreation; Green = Hunting; Blue = Competition.

Review: Steiner Predator: 4S 4-16X 44 mm

The benefit of a lightweight rifle is lost the moment you top it with a clunky, overweight optic, particularly a lengthy one. To that end, we are starting to see an emphasis on riflescopes that are less cumbersome when mounted, such as Steiner’s Predator 4S.

A Carry-Ready Classic: Outfitting A Ruger Speed-Six Revolver

Already a fan of Ruger’s long-discontinued double-action Security-Six, Police Service-Six and Speed-Six revolvers, I simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to acquire one of the latter in 9 mm Luger when an unfired, 42-year-old example turned up at a gun show.
