Combining carbon-fiber construction and a powerful magnet, the Javelin Bipod from Spartan Precision Equipment provides a solid shooting platform in a lightweight, minimalist package. A departure from weightier folding designs, the Javelin can be carried on the person or in a pack and, when the time is right, affixed quickly and near-silently to a stock-mounted adaptor. Security is provided by the bipod’s magnetic head engaging the adaptor’s steel screw. Models are available with telescoping or fixed legs, in various lengths, and features include steel-pointed feet with rubber covers and provisions for cant and traverse. On a recent Montana elk hunt, the Javelin performed flawlessly paired with my Mossberg MVP LR Tactical and EOTech 518 and magnifier as I took my first bull in a fast-paced encounter at 80 yds.

Spartan, a small, U.K.-based company, has already made a big splash in Europe with the Javelin, but is just getting started in the U.S. market. Interestingly, the company is committed not just to exporting its products to America, but to manufacturing them here as well. Currently on the lookout for a strategic partnership, the company’s ultimate goal is to sell American shooters American-made shooting sticks. javelinbipod.com
