Something of an aesthetic departure from the company’s other Ruger 10/22 replacement stocks, the Hogue Tactical Thumbhole was created with competition shooters and varmint hunters in mind. A one-piece, overmolded rubber stock, the Tactical Thumbhole features an ambidextrous thumbhole/pistol grip, an integral cheekpiece and a hook at the butt that allows the rear of the rifle to be easily stabilized by the shooter’s support hand. A wide fore-end and texturing on the pistol grip and both sides of the fore-end add to the ergonomics of the stock, contributing to the natural feel of the Tactical Thumbhole in the hands and at the shoulder. The stock is compatible with both standard-diameter and bull barrels, although if used with a standard barrel, there will be a small gap between the barrel and the stock. Offered in six colors; takedown models are also available. MSRP: $130. Contact: Hogue, Inc.; (805) 239-1440; hogueinc.com.
