Residents were at home watching a movie around 11:20 p.m. when several men forced their way into the home through the front door. One of the residents opened fire on the intruders causing them to flee. One suspect was killed at the scene and another was later found with fatal gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a nearby animal hospital. Police reported that it appeared the suspect's body was dumped there as the others fled from the home-invasion-gone-bad. None of the residents were harmed during the ordeal. A 14-year-old boy was home alone in Pueblo, Colo., when three intruders broke in through the back door. According to reports, the boy heard someone enter and armed himself, and was faced with three intruders whom he opened fire on. He told police he believes he hit one of the intruders, who immediately fled. It was said that the home's power had been cut before the backdoor had been kicked in. Police are still searching for the suspects and keeping an eye on local hospitals for any gunshot wound victims. (Gunssavelives.net, Pueblo, Colo., 1/16/14)
