Attendees of the 142nd NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, which begin Friday, May 3, 2013, are invited to join American Rifleman Editor-in-Chief Mark Keefe and a variety of special guests for a pair of special sessions (sponsored by Cabela's) at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The session "Civil War Sharpshooters" will be hosted on Saturday, May 4, while "Men & Guns of Market-Garden" opens on Sunday, May 5.

Join American Rifleman editors Mark Keefe and Joe Kurtenbach on Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at an American Rifleman Special Presentation on “Civil War Sharpshooters” at the George R. Brown Convention Center’s Room 360 as part of the 141st NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Houston. At this Special Presentation—free to NRA members—noted sniping authority Maj. John L. Plaster, U.S. Army (Ret.) will discuss the sharpshooters and their arms from America’s bloodiest conflict 125 years ago. The author of the practical "The Ultimate Sniper,” Maj. Plaster, a fantastic and dynamic speaker, is also one of the leading historians on the subject and the author of The History of Sniping & Sharpshooting. His presentation, covering both Confederate and Union sharpshooters, will feature more than 100 images and should last about two hours. We’ll see you on third floor in Room 360!
Special Session: Men & Guns of Market-Garden

On Sunday at 2 p.m., historian Martin K.A. Morgan will conduct “The Men & Guns of Operation Market-Garden,” covering the deeds and arms used by the British and American Airborne troops in a desperate gamble to seize a bridge across the Rhine River in September 1944. An American Rifleman Special Presentation, “The Men & Guns of Operation MARKET GARDEN” is free to NRA members and will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center’s Room 360 as part of the 142nd NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Houston Morgan has conducted hundreds of interviews with the men who fought to take “A Bridge Too Far,” and this talk, backed up by imagery and videos, promises to be one of our best sessions yet. American Rifleman Editor-in-Chief Mark Keefe will serve as the moderator, give brief remarks, make the introductions, then let the Morgan, a dynamic and knowledgeable speaker, take over the microphones and big screen with hundreds of images and videos.
