The modular SIG Sauer MCX line was designed in the U.S. after the Department of Defense asked for a compact, quiet rifle able to engage targets out to 300 meters. Through SIG's ability to incorporate suppressors as part of design rather than simply mounting them to barrels, SIG has achieved enhanced accuracy and reduced point-of-impact shift. The completely ambidextrous MCX is offered as a pistol, carbine and SBR, accepting a broad array of accessories in order to build a complete system for any scenario or environment. In addition to .300 BLK, the MCX can quickly convert to fire 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem., and soon to be introduced in 7.62x39 mm. American Rifleman's Mark Keefe got a close look at the SIG MCX SBR in .300 BLK at SIG Sauer's Media Day during the 2016 SHOT Show. Watch range footage above for all the details, or learn more about the engineering of this system by watching these SIG videos.
