A man defended himself at a gas station in Loris, S.C., from an armed assailant on the afternoon of Feb. 11, 2021.

The man was involved in a road-rage incident while driving, and the other truck followed him to a gas station. Around 5:30 p.m. that Thursday, the man parked his truck at a pump, while the other truck pulled in behind. The driver of the other truck got out with a knife in hand and approached the driver-side door of the man's truck. The attacking driver then opened the door of the truck with the man still inside.

As the assailant opened the door, the man drew his handgun and shot the knife-wielding attacker in self-defense. The assailing driver was subdued in the confrontation and died later of his wounds. (
