The Armed Citizen

Armed Citizen® Today

In the early morning hours of Jan. 14, four men allegedly attempted to force their way into an apartment in Thornton, Colo. However, one of the residents inside responded by firing shots at them, whereupon the intruders fled.

A local witness provided a description of a vehicle leaving the scene and police were able to track the suspects. After a resulting vehicle chase and successful pit maneuver, police engaged with four men in the vehicle. One man had suffered gunshot wounds and subsequently died of his injuries; and, though another suspect attempted to flee on foot, all three suspects were arrested. From the Armed Citizen® Archives – April 1975

NRA members Errol Galloway and Ralph Tolbert, both of West Grove, Pa., returned to their car after fox hunting to find another vehicle parked nearby and heard the sound of glass breaking. When they got closer, they saw a broken window and several items piled up outside the second car and two individuals inside. They held the suspects at gunpoint until police arrived. The suspects were later charged with theft and three other counts. (Chester County Press, Oxford, Pa.)
