Eight decades after the development of the classic Browning High-Power, minor modifications to the pistol have led to the Mark III version. A bilateral safety, an external extractor and trigger-activated firing-pin safety are the most obvious of the mods that led to the current iteration. Additionally, upgrades to the pistol's finish have modernized its appearance. Otherwise the gun remains a durable locked-breech, recoil-operated, single-action, semi-automatic pistol that has earned its place as this week's NRA Gun of the Week. See a vintage High-Power and a new model in this this video hosted by American Rifleman's Brian Sheetz.
