Smith & Wesson introduced its M&P 5.7 pistol with an innovative rotating-barrel system it calls the "Tempo," designed to make the best use of the fast 5.7x28 mm FN cartridge while also ensuring that the gun provides absolute reliability across the range of 5.7 cartridges. For 2024, the company is expanding its 5.7 mm-chambered guns to include a two-tone model with an FDE frame and an all-black slide.

Thanks to the small caliber and the small overall cartridge diameter, the M&P 5.7 has an impressive magazine capacity of 22 rounds, and two magazines ship with each pistol. The slide features a milled slot for a red-dot optic, and there's a Picatinny accessory rail on the polymer frame that accommodates lights and lasers. An ambidextrous slide-stop lever and reversible magazine release make this pistol suitable for right- and left-handed use.
