Two hard-hitting chamberings are rolled into the FN handgun lineup in 2023, with FN America's introduction of the FN 510 Tactical, chambered in 10 mm Auto, and the FN 545 Tactical, chambered for the .45 ACP. The two handguns are designed to offer greater capacity than ever before, giving enthusiasts and hunters unprecedented capability in a handgun.

“We pioneered the tactical feature set in the FNX-45 and FN 509 Tactical pistols, introducing the industry’s first pistol that shipped from the factory with a threaded barrel, optics mount and extended capacity. Until now, the FNX-45 Tactical had the highest capacity of any .45 ACP pistol available from the factory,” said Chris Johnson, senior product manager, pistols, for FN America. “This expansion into new, big-bore calibers has been a long time in the making, and we are excited to offer these pistols with this unprecedented capacity18+1 in the FN 545 Tactical and 22+1 in the FN 510 Tacticalalong with the features our customers seek in an FN Tactical pistol.”

At the top of the gun is FN's Low-Profile Optics Mounting System, which makes the pistol compatible with nearly every major micro red-dot (MRD) optic footprint on the market, thanks to the included set of adapter plates. Along with the optics-ready capability, the gun is also equipped with suppressor-height Trijicon sights that can co-witness with a mounted optic. The sights include tritium illumination for low-light use.

Completing the tactical package is a 4.7", cold-hammer-forged barrel that's threaded at the muzzle with a 0.578-28 TPI thread pitch. Inspired by the company's FN 509 series of handguns, the new FN 510 Tactical and FN 545 Tactical feature the same unique texture pattern on the grip frame. The frame also includes a bilateral push-button magazine release, as well as a Picatinny accessory rail. Users will also find a striker-fired trigger set to break at about 6 lbs.

Overall length for the pistols measures in at 8.3", while the height measures 6". Unloaded, the guns weigh 31-32 ozs., depending on the chambering. Each FN 510 Tactical and FN 545 Tactical ships with two magazines, one 15-round magazine and another extended magazine, with an 18-round capacity for .45 ACP and 22-round capacity in 10 mm Auto. The guns are available in black or flat-dark-earth finishes. The suggested retail price on both guns is $1,139. For more information, visit fnamerica.com.
