Uberti USA has an expansive lineup of classic reproduction firearms that are enjoyed by firearm enthusiasts across the country. The company continues to expand this lineup, and one of the latest out for 2020 is its 1885 Courteney Stalking rifle chambered in .303 British.

While the .303 British is far from a readily available round today, at the turn of the 20th century, it was one of the most common rounds found in the British Empire, as it was the cartridge used in the famous Lee-Enfield rifle.

The single-shot Courteney is so-named for the famous explorer and conservationist F. Courteney Selous. He spent most of his life collecting African game animals, and he ended up being the scout and explorer that opened up much of the continent of Africa to future travelers.

The 1885 Courteney Stalking Rifle boasts classic British lines along with a case-hardened receiver, trigger and a rock-solid 1885 falling-block lever action. The AA-Satin Prince of Wales stock with a classic rubber butt-pad complements an African hardwood tipped forend to create a distinctive look that resonates from the time of Selous’ forays into the wild.

The blued barrel sports a barrel band, a hooded front sight and a quarter-rib base with an adjustable V rear sight. The base is machined to accept Weaver-style scope rings, and a sleek quarter-rib with no provision for scope mounting is also available as an accessory to those preferring to hunt with open sights only.

Weighing in at a mere 7.1 pounds, the rifle features sling attachment points on the barrel band and buttstock to make this a rifle that is easy to carry all day. Due to its single-shot design, it provides an added challenge to hunters, but the 24-inch barrel and dependable falling-block action ensure that shooters can take an accurate shot when it counts.

The suggested retail price on the Uberti USA 1885 Courteney Stalking Rifle is $1,729. For more information, visit uberti.com.
