Streamlight introduced its small Pocket Mate flashlight in 2021, designed to give you an ultra-compact light that can be carried on a keychain that still offers a tremendous amount of illumination. The Pocket Mate is built with a bright-white LED bulb with an output of 325 lumens, giving you the ability to easily illuminate your surroundings without dedicating limited space to an oversized EDC flashlight.
“Versatility, brightness and USB rechargeability make the Pocket Mate the perfect easy-to-carry light for any situation—hands-free, in your pocket or attached to your person,” said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. Dineen. “The Pocket Mate produces incredible lumens and beam distance for a light this size.”
At its peak, the Streamlight Pocket Mate produces 325 lumens with a 76-meter throw. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery on board will power it for about 20 minutes at its highest output. There's also a low mode that produces 45 lumens with a 28-meter beam, and the continuous runtime on that mode is 1 hour. When used intermittently, both modes will provides several hours of use. Modes are selected through a multi-function push-button switch recessed into the light body to prevent accidental activation when carried in a pocket.
The Streamlight Pocket Mate is with a polycarbonate housing that's bolstered by a machined-aluminum frame. This incredibly small package measures 2" long and weighs only half an ounce. Rated IPX4 for weather-resistant operation, the Pocket Mate can withstand use on rainy days and has been rated for impact-resistance up to 1 meter. The aluminum housing features an anodized spring clip that makes the unit easy to attach to your existing keychain, and the clip can be used to mount the light to a hat brim or clothing for hands-free use.
Streamlight Pocket Mate models are available with silver, red, blue and pink anodized coatings. The suggested retail price on the light is $35. For more information, visit streamlight.com.
