NRA Gun of the Week: Head Down Firearms HD-15 Master Series

Head Down Firearms is a U.S. manufacturer of small arms that specializes in AR-15-pattern semi-automatics. The company provides both pistols and rifles that feature top-shelf components, assembled and available to the consumer at affordable rates.

The company’s HD-15 18” Master Series is a feature-rich, modern variant of the Stoner design optioned for long-range work. The gun’s upper and lower receivers are matched and machined from billet aluminum. A Picatinny rail is provides for optic mounting and the gun’s handguard is topped with rail for accessories. Additionally, M-Lok slots are given throughout for further attachment of accessories.

Head Down Firearms has outfitted its Master Series with top-shelf components. A Luth AR fully adjustable stock is furnished for a custom user interface. A Mission First Tactical grip is supplied. Head Down provides a 18” chrome-moly steel barrel on our test sample of the HD-15 Master Series. A multi-colored Cerakote finish is provided, a treatment Head Down Firearms is known for. Nitriding is applied to the gun’s bolt carrier group for extreme corrosion protection.
