Traditions Performance Firearms released the Crackshot XBR Rifle at the 2019 National Rifle Association Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Indianapolis, Ind. The Crackshot XBR comes essentially with two rifles in one. It includes a .22 caliber rifle with a 16.5” barrel for plinking and small game hunting, but also an XBR upper which swaps onto the Crackshot, turning the rifle into the arrow-launching Crackshot XBR.

This upper has an inner barrel that is protected by an outer shroud. To load it, slide the hollow end of a Traditions Firebolt 2216 arrow onto the inner barrel and push downward until it meets the end of the barrel. Next, break open the rifle and place a Traditions XBR Powerload .27 Cal Long in the chamber, close up the gun, remove the safety and fire at the target.

The Crackshot XBR can reach up to 385 f.p.s. The arrow is pulled from the front instead of pushed from the rear, to better maintain a steady trajectory. As one would expect, the gun has low recoil, is lightweight and emits a low decibel when fired.
