In Lake Odessa, Mich., a man suspected of substance abuse stole a truck and trailer to take it for a joyride. Stopping the vehicle in a local neighborhood, the suspect forced his way into a nearby house. The homeowner awoke to discover the desperate man stating he was being chased by someone attempting to kill him. Grabbing his gun, the resident followed the intruder outside to face the attacker, but found no one. Both men headed back into the house where the bad guy began to act in an erratic and angry manner, eventually attacking the homeowner. The resident fired his gun and killed his attacker. A man who sustained a full blast of pepper spray from a burglar fought back with his firearm one Monday night. After two men and two women asked the apartment resident for gas money, purportedly for someone he knew, they forced the door and pepper sprayed him. Acting quickly, the victim fired two rounds into the lead burglar, sending her to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. (caller.com, Corpus Christi, Texas, 3/5/19)
