home intruder in Sioux City, Iowa, was stopped in his tracks by a homeowner who used his firearm to defend himself. The intruder, under the influence of LSD and morphine, broke windows to enter the home. After entering, he proceeded to damage the inside of the house. The homeowner confronted the man and asked him to leave. The intruder refused to leave and physically assaulted the homeowner. The homeowner retrieved his firearm and shot the intruder. The man later died from his injuries in a hospital. An autopsy revealed the presence of drugs in his system. The Woodbury county attorney ruled in July that the homeowner acted in self-defense and justifiably used deadly force. (kscj.com, Sioux City, Iowa, 7/22/19)

Armed Citizen Extra
A homeowner in Prospect used his firearm to scare off a burglar one Monday night. Around 11 p.m., the homeowner's phone alerted him to the tripping of a motion-sensing camera on the side of his house. He immediately got up, grabbed his pistol and went to his driveway to investigate, at which point he saw the intruder running toward his neighbor's open garage. After yelling at the man, the attempted housebreaker ran toward a running car and fled the scene. (WLKYLouisville, Ky., 7/30/19)
