NRA Gun Gear of the Week: Precision Hunter Build—The Theory

There has been somewhat of a “race to the bottom” when it comes to the American bolt-action market. Major manufacturers are designing rifles that shoot well and are easy to produce, and they are passing the savings on to consumers. In reviewing these guns for American Rifleman, I couldn’t help but think that, much like a stripped AR, these guns may make great foundations for personalized rifle builds. To test the theory, I’ve purchased my own bargain-bin bolt gun and my goal is to build a precision hunting rifle.
