NRA Gun of the Week: Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt/.45 ACP Revolver

by
posted on October 15, 2016

Since 1979, Sturm, Ruger & Co. has offered a DA/SA (double-action/single-action) large-frame revolver known as the Redhawk. The Redhawk began life chambered for .44 Mag with chamberings in .41 Mag., .357 Mag. and .45 Colt to follow. It wasn’t until mid-2015 that Ruger announced an addition to the Redhawk line that utilized moon clips to facilitate use of .45 ACP cartridges in the .45 Colt cylinder. American Rifleman's Brian Sheetz talks more about this multi-cartridge Redhawk variant from Ruger in this week's NRA Gun of the Week video.
