After three years in development, Rock Island Armory has introduced a true 1911 chambered for the .22 Mag. cartridge. Featuring a lengthened frame and a magazine designed to eliminate feeding issues, the XT 22 Magnum is a single-stack 15+1 low-recoil pistol with all standard 1911 parts (save for the trigger bow). The pistol will initially be offered with fixed sights, but look for a version with a top rail for optics somewhere down the line. And you can put any concerns over ammo supplies aside, as the company has promised to allocate enough Armscor .22 Mag. with each pistol, so buyers are assured they will be able shoot their new guns.
