While I’ve never been the biggest fan of Starbucks coffee-I’ve always felt it tasted burnt-I am a huge fan of the company’s stance on firearms, which permits firearms to be legally carried in its stores under state, local and federal laws.

Considering the growth in firearms and concealed carry, it seems like more companies would take this stance, especially since legally carried guns prevent bad people from committing crimes. The idea is pretty simple: Are you going to try and rob a place that allows firearms or one that doesn’t? Besides, Starbucks is all about selling coffee to anyone and everyone.

Of course, some people don’t agree with the company’s policy, and have decided to boycott the coffee chain as a way to change this policy. As such, another group is staging an event in support of Starbucks as a way to thank it for its firearms policy. On Friday, August 9, 2013, consider visiting a Starbucks and either carry a firearm, while following all firearm laws, or while wearing 2nd Amendment apparel. If you don’t drink coffee, you can always get a tea or a snack.

Since Virginia allows open carry, I will be getting my caffeine fix for the day, with my Kimber sitting on my hip. If you can't make it on Friday, drop by another day. Nothing says that you can't support those who support our rights on a different day.
