As the patent protections expire on popular firearm designs, the door is opened for other manufacturers to offer their take on a popular gun. Two cases in point are Colt’s M1911 and AR-15, and the proliferation of companies making some version of each. For the 21st century, the “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” firearm is the Glock 9 mm pistol. TriStar Arms is throwing its hat into that ring with the new-for-2025 APOC.

The TriStar APOC offers Glock compatibility and affordability in an affordable package.

The APOC is a striker-fired, polymer-frame, semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9 mm manufactured by Kral Arms of Turkey. A “compact” size, the APOC has a 4” barrel and weighs 25 ozs. Each pistol is supplied with two magazines that are Glock-compatible, and a magwell is available as an accessory. Sights have fiber-optic inserts and are compatible with Glock aftermarket options. The pistol is compatible with most Glock parts, accessories and holsters.

Despite its “Gen 3” Glock profile, the APOC has a few differences. The frame has a slightly different profile, with the frontstrap of the grip frame lacking finger grooves and a backstrap that is interchangeable, with two sizes provided. A Picatinny accessory rail, instead of the proprietary Glock rail, is molded into the frame’s dustcover. The slide has front and rear cocking serrations.

The APOC is available in four frame/slide color combinations. The olive drab (OD) green frame is pictured.

APOC handguns are available in four color configurations—black, flat dark-earth (FDE), sniper gray, and an olive drab (OD) green frame and black slide. TriStar APOC pistols have an MSRP of $359. For more information, see the company’s website.
