Spyderco Police Model knife

The all-stainless-steel Spyderco Police Model folding knife is an instantly recognizable design that, according to the company, “was developed in the early 1980s to meet the demanding needs of law-enforcement professionals.” The knife measures 9.5" (open) and weighs 5.6 ozs., giving it an appearance, presence and heft like few other folders. Its elegant lines and slender format incorporate functional ergonomics including Spyderco’s signature opening feature, a round thumb hole in the top rear of the blade, in this case backed by a jimped ramp that helps to secure the knife in the hand. The Police Model is manufactured in Japan and features a 3 mm-thick, 4.2" hollow-ground blade of VG-10—offered in PlainEdge, partially serrated CombinationEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge formats—along with a four-position pocket clip for tip-up or tip-down carry on either side. Price: $230. Contact: Spyderco; (303) 279-8383; spyderco.com.
