Is there room for another 6.5 mm chambering? Hornady thinks so. New for 2018, the ammo maker's just-announced caliber, the 6.5 PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) gives precision rifle shooters and long-range hunters another reason to head to the range and field. Hornady is calling this cartridge the big brother to its popular 6.5 Creedmoor, designed to fit in short or medium actions with a standard magnum bolt face (.532”). Its case geometry features a long cartridge case neck and 30 degree cartridge case shoulder.

To date, rifle makers chambering the 6.5 PRC include GA Precision, Gunwerks, Horizon Firearms, PROOF Research, Stuteville Precision and Seekins Precision. No doubt this list will grow longer in 2018.
