With its most famous model called the Bulldog, Charter Arms has a flair for naming its products. Consequently, the attitude exhibited with its two new product lines should come as no surprise. The Walker and Boomer are two purpose-built wheelguns aimed at specific niches in the self-defense market.

The Walker is a compact, rimfire revolver designed for concealed carry. Available with either a .22 LR or .22 WMR chambering, both have eight-round capacities.

The Walker is an ultra-compact rimfire revolver, with an aluminum frame and steel barrel and cylinder. Its hammer is concealed within its frame for double-action only operation. Sights consist of a fixed front ramp and rear notch in the top strap of the frame. Grips are compact and made of rubber. The Walker weighs 15 ounces.

Charter Arms is known for their finish options, and the Walker is available with bright anodized frames and high polished barrel and cylinder.

Chambered in either .22 LR or .22 WMR, both chamberings have a capacity of eight cartridges. The Walker is available with either a black anodized frame and black Passivate finished stainless steel components, or with a pink or teal anodized frame and high polished stainless steel components. Models with a black finish have an MSRP of $460, while models with an anodized and polished finish retail for $490.

The Boomer is a streamlined and minimalistic version of Charter Arms’ famous Bulldog.

The Boomer is an update and re-introduction of a revolver Charter Arms originally introduced in 2016. Like the original, the new Boomer is a stripped down version of the Bulldog, which the company calls “the ultimate carry compact revolver that is powerful enough to ensure your personal protection.” Made of stainless steel components, the Boomer has a concealed hammer for double-action only operation. Its 2-inch barrel is tapered with dual ports and is sans front sight. For close-range engagements, the “trenched sighting system” consists of a gutter on the frame’s topstrap. Combat-style grips are made of rubber and have a pebble-grain texture.

The Boomer is available chambered in .38 Spl. (six shot) or 9 mm, .357 Mag. or .44 Spl. (five shot).

The Boomer is available chambered for four different cartridges. In .38 Spl., it has a six-round capacity. A five-round cylinder accommodates 9 mm, .357 Mag., and .44 Spl. chambering. All are available in either a natural stainless or blackened Passivate finish. All Boomer revolvers weigh 24 ounces and have an MSRP of $500.
