Occupants of an apartment in Rock Hill, S.C., were forced to act in self defense when a young man at the residence began attacking others in the early morning hours of April 24, 2021.

The incident began before 4:30 a.m. when the 19-year-old man initiated a verbal altercation with other occupants of the apartment. Events escalated when the man then began to attack and make death threats against the others. The man then started another man and was shot by someone else to stop the attack.

The man was struck and wounded by the shot but not subdued. He then turned his attention to a female occupant and began to strangle her. The man was shot again, this time stopping his attack as he collapsed. When authorities arrived at the scene later, the 19-year-old man was pronounced dead. After an investigation, authorities determined the shooting to be in the defense of others, and those involved will not be charged. (wcnc.com, Charlotte, N.C., 04/24/2021)
