Armed Citizen® Today

A resident of a Waukegan, Ill., home was forced to defend himself and the other residents inside the home when two armed men forced their way in on Sept. 22, 2020.

The incident began around 10:00 a.m. when two men, disguised as gas-company employees, walked up to the front door of the home and began kicking it with their feet. A woman inside the residence heard the noise and went to answer the door. She cracked opene the door to see who was at the door, and the men forced their way in, one armed with a firearm.

As the men forced their way in, the woman screamed for help. The woman's roommate heard her screams and came up the stairs to investigate. When he saw the situation unfolding, the roommate went back downstairs to retrieve a firearm before coming back.

The roommate then confronted and exchanged fire with the armed men inside the home. A neighbor described hearing two or three intervals of gunfire erupt inside the home. The woman grabbed a young child she was watching and fled out the back door. The roommate managed to hit both robbers in the exchange, and both men fell dead of their wounds in the front yard of the home.

It is believed that the robbers thought the home was empty at the time of their break-in. Police are still trying to determine the identities of the two armed robbers and why they targeted the home. According to the family, none of the residents of the home were injured in the home invasion. (abc7chicago

Awakened by pounding at the front door of his Dade County, Fla., home, George Daubert peered through a peep hole, saw two men trying to break in, and found his revolver. When the intruders forced their way inside and were standing in the foyer, Daubert ordered them to freeze.

As one man lunged at him, Daubert fired at and wounded him. Both intruders fled, but the wounded man collapsed at a nearby corner and died soon after at the hospital. (The Herald, Miami, Fla.)

Due to Germany's strict firearm-export laws, along with U.S. firearm import laws, the closest any HK fan could get to owning a real G36 was in the form of the HK SL8. Now, though, Heckler & Koch has introduced its G36 .22 LR, which, profile-wise, is a G36 in all but chambering.
