Home with her daughter, a woman received an unsettling visit from two adult females who came looking for trouble. Threatening the mother’s child, the women stated they would cause harm to the girl and return later to “tear up” the home. As she was sitting on her bed late at night, the resident was startled when the window in her room was suddenly shattered by a hammer. Seeing an intruder outside the window, the woman retrieved her handgun and fired one shot at the figure. The prowler fled the home. The woman was later treated by medics for minor abrasions from the broken glass. Police are still searching for the suspect. (TulsaWorld.com, Tulsa, OK, 7/25/17)

The Armed Citizen® Extra
A couple trying to steal from a local farm-supply store were suddenly stopped in their tracks by an employee. Suffering from a series of thefts in recent days, the store had begun keeping a night watch. Late one Wednesday night, the employee on watch noticed a man inside a fenced outdoor area of the store trying to remove property. The employee went outside to confront both the burglar and a woman who was with him. He was able to hold them at gunpoint until police arrived. The burglar had a history of theft and criminal activity and was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and methamphetamine possession. (The Wenatchee World, Wenatchee, WA, 8/5/17)
