CMMG introduced the Mk 4 RCE this year as one of the company’s premier new rifles. It features a 16 inch 416 stainless steel, medium-taper-profile barrel and is available in 5.56 NATO and .300 AAC Blackout. The rifle comes equipped with the company’s proprietary SV muzzle brake and RKM14 KeyMod handguard, which allows for all kinds of customization options. The Mk 4 RCE also comes with a Geissele SSA 2-Stage trigger, Magpul’s MOE pistol grip, MOE trigger guard and CTR buttstock as standard features.

What stands out on the RCE, of course, is the new KeyMod fore-end. This relatively new modular system allows plenty of customization without the need for full rails. Accessories can be added precisely where the shooter can best use them, with minimal tools needed. KeyMod-friendly items thread directly into the system, while 1913-style Picatinny rails can be attached for everything else. It’s a tidy, useful system that really opens up how lights, lasers, foregrips and other attachments can be added to an AR-15 style rifle.
