In Corpus Christi, Texas, officers were called to an apartment to treat a young woman for non-life-threatening injuries. Earlier in the evening, a man answered the door to his apartment to discover two men and two women asking him to lend them gas money for someone he knew personally. Pepper spraying the man, the four intruders forced their way into his home. In self-defense, the armed citizen drew his firearm and shot several rounds to protect himself, striking one of the women. Afterwards, three of the home invaders fled and were at large. (caller.com, Corpus Christi, Texas, 3/5/19)

Armed Citizen Extra
An attempt at armed robbery in Norfolk, Va., played out less than ideally for the robber. The alleged holdup man entered a wireless cell-phone store one Monday afternoon with his face covered and a pistol in his hand. An quick-thinking employee took action, however, shooting the robber and forcing him to flee. Upon their arrival, the police found the burglar a short distance away and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was expected to survive. He has been charged with three counts of attempted robbery, two counts of attempted malicious wounding, seven counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of abduction and one count each of discharging a firearm in an occupied building and wearing a mask in public.
