Armed Citizen® Today

A 20-year-old suspect was shot and killed while attempting a burglary in St. Petersburg, Fla., in April 2025.

Police say the suspect and another man forced their way into a house around 2 a.m., when both men encountered an armed resident. The resident fired, injuring the 20-year-old suspect and prompting the second suspect to flee the home. The wounded burglar was transported to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. (WFTS Tampa Bay; St. Petersburg, Fla.; 4/16/25)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – August 1967

Badly beaten after the third holdup of his little Washington, D.C., secondhand shop, Eddie Eisenstein, 39, survived a hospital stay in critical condition and vowed "never again."

When three armed men took his money and tied him up in a fourth holdup, Eisenstein slipped his bonds, drew a hidden gun and fired six shots. Four bullets hit one robber, killing him.

Police said the slain man was a paroled felon already under indictment in another case. (Washington Star)
