Armed Citizen® Today

A doughnut shop owner in Houston, Texas, stopped an armed robbery, shooting and killing the alleged robber in the process, according to local police.

Officers say the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, entered the doughnut shop wearing a black hoodie and dark clothing at about 6:15 a.m. The store owner was armed, and an exchange of gunfire occurred, with the suspect being fatally shot by the store owner. Police arrived on scene five minutes later and found the cash register open and the suspect dead on the floor of the business.

Houston police noted that the investigation is still in its early stages and that the shop owner is not currently facing charges. It is expected that the case will be presented to a grand jury for review. (KHOU 11 News; Houston, Texas; 5/1/25)

Bill Green and his wife returned home to their Ormond Beach, Fla., home to find two armed men in the house. One intruder fired at Green who, despite a leg wound, was able to get a gun, return fire and slay his attacker.

The second thug ran. Police said the slain gunman was carrying a live hand grenade in his jacket pocket. (Daytona Beach Morning Journal, Daytona Beach, Fla.)
