A woman in Stockton, Calif., was forced to defend herself and her family when a neighbor forced his way in and began to assault her and her family members inside the woman's apartment on Dec. 25, 2020.

The incident started before 2:45 p.m. on that Christmas Day when the 29-year-old woman was confronted by her 32-year-old neighbor and an argument ensued. At some point during the argument, the neighbor pushed his way into the woman's apartment and began to assault the woman. At the same time, the neighbor also targeted some of the woman's family members that were inside the residence at that time.

In response to the neighbor's forced entry and assault, the woman armed herself with a firearm and shot the attacking neighbor. The neighbor was struck at least once and suffered a non-life-threatening injury. The neighbor was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and the case was handed over to the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office. (sacramento.cbslocal

From the Armed Citizen® Archives December 1964

In the early morning hours in Stewartstown, Penn., Harry H. Grimm heard the lock being forced on his apartment door. Grabbing a 12-ga. shotgun, Grimm shouted, “If you come in, I’ll shoot.” When the door burst open Grimm dropped the intruder with one fatal shot. It was later learned that the would-be burglar had broken into the same apartment three times previously and had served 18 months for one of the break-ins. (Erie Times News, Stewartstown, Penn.)
