23 years after the original debuted, Nikon has released an updated Monarch rifle scope—the Monarch M5. With a 4X optical zoom, the Nikon Monarch is built around a 30 mm aircraft-grade aluminum main tube, designed to increase its internal adjustment range. The scope will feature a choice of three reticles—the MK1-MOA (with MOA hash-marks), the BDC and the Nikoplex—matched with 1/4-click MOA turrets. These turrets promise crisp movements, along with spring-loaded, instant-zero-reset adjustments. Turret caps are low profile opposite a side-focus parallax adjustment; a zoom ring and quick-focus eyepiece round out the "controls" on the scope. All Monarch M5 riflescopes are finished in matte-black anodizing, and are waterproof, shockproof and fogproof. Scope zoom and objective lenses range from 3-12X 42 mm, to 4-16X 42 mm, to 5-20X 50 mm. The Monarch M5 will range from $499.95 to $649.95, depending on zoom level and reticle choice. For more information, please visit nikonsportoptics.com.
