American Rifleman Editor-In-Chief Mark Keefe never thought he’d see the day that Ruger would introduce a suppressor. Luckily, for all of us, that day has come. The company known for rugged, reliable and affordable firearms is playing to its strengths with the Ruger Silent-SR: First, it’s a rimfire-specific suppressor compatible with  firearms chambered for .17 HMR, .22 Long Rifle and .22 WMR—that makes a lot of sense for a company that builds the Mark series pistols and 10/22 rifles. As well, the Silent-SR’s sophisticated baffle design would be tough to machine from billet, but it can be efficiently produced using investment casting—a manufacturing process that is right in Ruger’s wheelhouse. Mike Fifer, CEO of Ruger, paid NRA a visit to personally unveil the Silent-SR. Watch the video above.
