NRA Gun of the Week: CMMG Mk47 Mutant

CMMG combined the versatility of the AR-platform rifle with rugged reliability of the AK-47 to produce the Mk47 AKM. And as B. Gil Horman pointed out in his earlier online review, the idea of chambering an AR for 7.62x39 mm is not new, but "there comes a point where using existing components won't produce the desired results." CMMG has gone back to the drawing board to develop a new set of receivers designed specifically for the 7.62x39 mm cartridge, which is was separates this rifle from other general purpose rifles.
