Rack you're quite right, we do have a tough slog getting equal time in the media. That said its not impossible and even NPR has had some surprisingly long PRO-gun rights interviews in the past couple months. To which many of NPR's left-wing fans have raged on the public radio's comments sections that they were allowing the NRA a free pass. I call it balance for all the years of anti-gun blather Terry Gross has let roll unchallenged on her show. We need to stay positive and continue to remind our lawmakers (and the media) that we 4.3 million dues-paying NRA members are part of the 65 million gun owners in this country who need their absolute resolve to give no ground on our gun rights. Not one inch. Ever. It is easy-as-pie these days to quickly give your Senators and Representatives some feedback via their email sites. My latest suggestion for emphasis is that we give an emphatic NO to 'Universal' Background Checks. THERE WILL NEVER BE 'Universal' background checks. Not even close. Canada tried to impose a 'universal' registry of all long firearms in 1995, Britain attempted and actual 'Ban' on private possesion of handguns in 1997, and Australia attempted a 'Ban' in 1996. In all three nations, LESS THAN 20% OF THEIR GUN OWNERS COMPLIED [with the required full declaring of, or turning in of their prohibited firearms]. The >80% majority of their gun owners have instead retained at least some of their guns in illegal status. A similar 'NON-universal' outcome can be expected of U.S. gun-ownners/voters. It might be noted by any elected official hoping to remain in office, that in both Australia and Canada, the parties that voted in the gun registry/bans promptly LOST THEIR MAJORITY STATUS at the next election cycle. This is similar to the reactions of U.S. voters in the 1996 elections after the Clinton 'Assault' Weapon and Large Capacity Magazine Bans. So have faith fellow gun owners! Communicate those facts! Vote! and we can surmount this latest onslaught! Hooah!

To understand the "gun problem" you have to understand the liberal mind. In their world, utopia, there are no problems and everyone lives happily ever after. For free! To have a person solve a problem on their own is anathema; there's a government app for that. And having common people running around with guns and protecting their lives and property is unthinkable. Besides, guns are scary! Just the sight of a gun sends them into apoplectic shock. So what they really want is no guns. And since they can't have that (yet) they are content to nibble around the edges, scoring small victories for the cause. But if the cause really was to save lives, why ban "assault" rifles and not handguns? After all, handguns kill way more people than rifles. And why pick on law-abiding citizens? If you want to save lives get rid of the gang-bangers. They simply pick a target of opportunity and pounce. Here in Colorado, we are about to "solve" the gun problem by outlawing 30-round magazines and replacing them with 15-rounders. And after the next shooting, we will replace the 15-rounders with 7 1/2-rounders. And then 3.75-rounders. See how simple it is? Just pass a stupid law and then sit back and enjoy that "feel-good" drug that liberals thrive on.
