Popular laser sight manufacturer Crimson Trace, after recently expanding its laser line with a Ruger LC9-compatible model, has announced the impending arrival of its new Lightguard platform.

The Crimson Trace Lightguard is the white-light illumination equivalent of its Laserguard laser system, offering 100-lumens of brightness activated when the user grips the handgun. Working with firearms manufacturers, Crimson Trace developed a way for Lightguard to have a minimal effect on a firearm’s balance while still using its existing laser systems for both laser and white-light solutions to nighttime acquisition situations.

The Lightguard, initially available for Glock, Springfield XD and Smith & Wesson M&P handguns, features a front-activation pressure switch, compact LED light head and full 3-year warranty. The MSRP is $149.
