Davidson’s is one of the largest firearm distributors in the country, and it works with manufacturers to bring special configurations to market that you just can’t find anywhere else. One of the most popular manufacturers in the Davidson’s Gallery of Guns is Glock, which has worked with the distributor to offer a wide range of unique-to-Davidson’s products. This Glock 19X MOS Threaded Barrel model is just one of the latest in the lineup.

Despite the wide range of Glock handgun models, relatively few guns from the company are offered with a threaded barrel as a factory option. One of the models that’s become popular in recent years is the G19X, and despite having many features demanded of modern handguns, one feature that was conspicuously absent was the ability to mount a suppressor. Davidson’s is fixing that with its Gallery of Guns Exclusive offering.

The Glock 19X was initially developed as Glock’s submission to the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System trials, and while it made little headway on the military front, its feature set made it popular on the commercial market. Glock calls this a “crossover” design, and the G19X was its first such gun, combining elements of its G17 with its G19. Consequently, the 19X has the slide and barrel length of the Glock 19 with the lengthier grip frame of the G17, allowing it to accept 17-round, flush-fit magazines.

Given the extra length of barrel required for threading, this particular Davidson’s Exclusive G19X actually has a slightly longer barrel length than even the G17, despite having a G19-length slide. A well-knurled thread protector caps the 1/2x28 TPI muzzle threads. One of the other standout features on this G19X package is the milled slide designed to accept Glock’s MOS adapter plates. For use without an optic, a black cover plate is included that provides a nice contrast to the coyote-brown slide finish. A set of suppressor-height Ameriglo sights provides a prominent sighting option that can be seen both over the profile of a mounted suppressor and co-witnessed with a mounted red-dot optic.

When shooting this Davidson’s Exclusive Glock 19X, we especially appreciated the full-size grip frame, particularly those of us with larger hands. One great feature of this Davidson’s Exclusive package is that this pistol comes with a full set of magazines, one 17-round, flush-fit magazine and two 19-round extended magazines. This made it incredibly easy to load up for a day at the range.

We particularly appreciated how prominent the open sights are on this model, and the Gen5 enhancements, like the straight front strap, replaceable backstraps and improved trigger were noticeable. We even like the added touch of the lanyard ring at the bottom of the grip, which highlights that this pistol was built for the battlefield, first and foremost, and that ensures it’ll keep running when we need it.
