New For 2024: Ruger SR1911 Lightweight In 9 mm Luger

Ruger is expanding its SR1911 lineup in 2024 with an all-new Lightweight model built on an aluminum frame. Thanks to this aluminum construction, the SR1911 Lightweight weighs in at just over 2 lbs., and that's with a Government-length slide and a 5" barrel chambered for 9 mm Luger.

While other handguns in the Ruger family might come to mind first, the company's SR1911 offering has been a strong collection for more than a decade. This latest model preserves many of the traditional lines and controls of the M1911 platform, including a single-side manual thumb safety, slide-stop lever and push-button magazine release. Since the gun is chambered for 9 mm Luger, the flush-fit magazines hold nine rounds each, and the pistol ships with two stainless-steel magazines.
