Savage Arms has a long history of partnering with other manufacturers to produce quality precision rifles priced at a level that's affordable to budget-minded shooters. In recent years, the company has worked with Modular Driven Technologies to produce long-range platforms such as the Savage 110 Elite Precision, which features an MDT rifle chassis. This partnership continued into 2020 with the launch of the new Savage Arms 110 Precision, which features a purpose-built chassis from MDT.
The aluminum-framed chassis features a skeletonized stock that's adjustable for comb height and length-of-pull, and the accurized LSS XL chassis was built from the ground up to enhance the accuracy potential of the popular Savage 110 action. Completing this precision platform is the addition of this Savage factory-blueprinted action paired with a carbon-steel heavy barrel that's topped by a threaded muzzle. Fortunately, Savage took care of long-range shooters in the muzzle-device department on this new-product launch, including its highly effective BA muzzle brake to tame recoil and allow for fast follow-up shots.
Each Savage Arms 110 Precision rifle is fed with a detachable, AICS-pattern magazine, and the gun ships with a single 10-round mag. Also found on this model is a single-piece EGW optics rail, providing 20 m.o.a. of built-in elevation. As with all of Savage's purpose-built precision platforms, this 110 Precision includes the company's popular AccuTrigger, which allows users to fine-tune trigger-pull weight anywhere between 1 lb., 8 ozs. to 4 lbs.
Four models are available in the new-for-2020 Savage Arms 110 Precision rifle lineup, and available chamberings are .308 Win., 6.5 mm Creedmoor, .300 Win. Mag., and .338 Lapua Mag. Barrel lengths of the 110 Precision measure 24", with the exception of the short-action .308 Win. model, which has a barrel length of 20".
