Officers in Merced County, Calif., responded to a burglary call, only to find the two alleged burglars being held at gunpoint by a homeowner.

The call came on the evening of Saturday, April 1. When police arrived, they found the homeowner, a Merced County CCW permit holder, along with the two burglars and a vehicle allegedly belonging to the suspects. According to local reports, the vehicle was stuck in a ditch and contained several items belonging to the homeowner.

Officers took the two burglary suspects into custody and booked them on suspicion of burglary, as well as several other outstanding warrants. (Your Central Valley; Merced, Calif.; 4/1/24)

The occupants of a Waterbury, Conn., cafe were accosted by a pair of armed men and forced to lie on the floor. With his accomplice posted by the door, a pistol-wielding hoodlum removed money from behind the counter and took cash from the customers and owner. One patron began arguing, and as a scuffle ensued, the owner retrieved a revolver. Firing three shots, he drove the would-be robbers from his establishment. (The Republican, Waterbury, Conn.)
