New for 2022, Marlin has once again revived one of the classic Marlin lever-action rifle models, with the re-introduction of the Model 1895 Guide Gun. During its previous time in production, this model was called the "1895 GBL.” Now, the new Model 1895 Guide Gun is Ruger's first iteration within the relaunched Guide Gun family, as well as the first appearance of a Marlin rifle constructed from carbon steel with a blued finish.

Chambered for the classic .45-70 Gov't. cartridge, the Marlin Model 1895 Guide Gun sports a 19” cold hammer-forged barrel with a 1:20" right-hand twist rate for the caliber. The muzzle of the barrel is also threaded for 11/16"-24 t.p.i. for mounting both suppressors or muzzle devices, and the gun comes with a match-polished thread protector mounted from the factory. On top of the barrel, the Marlin Model 1895 Guide Gun comes with a classically styled and fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, along with a hooded brass-bead front sight post. It also includes a large loop lever for easy manipulation and use with gloved hands. The action is fed via a six-round tube magazine located under the barrel, which is fed through a loading gate on the right side of the receiver.

Controls include a hammer and a cross-bolt safety located just beneath it. Most all of the metal components wear a non-glare, satin blued finish, except for the bolt, which is nickel-plated for durability and corrosion resistance. For furniture, the Model 1895 Guide Gun comes with a brown laminate butt and fore-end, with checkering at the grip portions of each for increased purchase. With an overall length of 37.25”, it has an unloaded weight of 7.4 lbs. This revived Marlin lever gun has a suggested retail price of $1,149.
