Wiley Clapp: Guns They Oughta Make—5-inch S&W Model 686

There is a S&W revolver that I regard highly and would like to see a variation thereof.

Combat Magnum Resurgence

The full-size American revolver concept not only isn't dead, but two new Smith & Wesson Combat Magnums-the Model 69 in .44 Mag. and the revamped .357 Mag. Model 66-are proof that it's actually enjoying a resurgence.

The Enduring Hand Ejector

Long-time gun owners take their ability to identify various makes and models for granted. But what about newer shooters just embarking on a new hobby? For them, the nomenclature created over many decades is a whole new language, as Wiley Clapp recently learned.

Terminology: Underlug

I'm not sure where this underlug business really got its start, but I was around when it really got rolling. A term that relates most commonly to DA/SA revolvers, underlug refers to an integral extension of metal that runs along the bottom side of the barrel.
