Firearm Sales Remain Strong, Defying Economic Trends

At least one million citizens purchased a firearm in February, the 43rd month in a row it has broken the six-figure mark. The number represents a low estimate, too, reflecting only those transactions that resulted in processing of the buyer’s name through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) and subsequent approval as a lawful purchaser.

2023 Industry Predictions: Market Analysis Says . . .

A Southwick Associates report predicts the increase in gun and ammunition inventory at retailers will reduce scarcity-driven purchases next year. The increased availability will be a welcome change, along with the anticipated continuation of the discount, rebate and incentive trend that hit the market in mid-2022.
