The Type 54 is a 1950's era North China Industries (Norinco) clone of the Russian TT pistol, and large quantities have recently become available through AIM Surplus.

Based on the Chinese Type 50, which was itself based on the Soviet PPSh-41, the K-50M was modified by Vietnamese communists in cottage and jungle workshops to be well-suited to the needs of Viet Cong guerillas.

The Tokarev was the Soviet Union’s standard sidearm for nearly two decades, and was a bridge between the Nagant Model 1895 revolver and the Makarov pistol adopted in 1952.
