A half-century ago, Remington Arms Co. introduced a new gas-operated shotgun. Despite many models having come and gone from “Big Green’s” lineup, the solid Model 1100 Remington is still cataloged-and remains popular-to this very day.

Remington is commemorating its 200th anniversary with a Limited Edition series of engraved firearms, giving 2016 buyers the chance to own an exciting new part of Remington’s storied history.

In celebration of its 200th year of business, Remington Arms is offering a Limited Edition run of guns. Eliphalet Remington, founder of the company, is depicted on each firearm through laser engraving and 24-karat-gold inlay.

If you've been admiring the Remington 200th Anniversary editions all year but haven't decided whether to pull the trigger, you might want to give it more immediate attention.

The gunmaking legend is back at it at the Ilion, N.Y., factory, employing many of the same craftsmen, supervisors and management personnel. The company is concentrating initial efforts on manufacturing Model 870s, but plans including bringing back Model 1100s.
